How to Increase Productivity

Productivity does not necessarily mean being in motion. It means harnessing your skills, knowledge, creativity and strength to accomplish important tasks. It is also about performing community-centered duties that will benefit not only you but also the people around you.

For instance, attending classes in IELTS Baguio and reviewing until midnight is not akin to being productive if you do not enjoy what you are doing. You are sacrificing lesson comprehension and retention, including your health. Being productive means devoting your time and energy wisely.

Tips to Increase Productivity

To some, productivity is a second nature. They are like born productive people. They can accomplish several tasks for the day while still having the energy to join fun activities. Meanwhile, some people struggle to be productive.

If you find it hard to be productive at times, here are some tips that you can do:
  1. Plan your day. Set your daily goals and list your priorities. Categorize the items based on their urgency and importance. Doing so can help you avoid procrastinating and ditch insignificant matters.

    For instance, you can create a to-do list that you need to accomplish for the day—starting from attending training sessions in IELTS Baguio, self-studying, cleaning the house and other tasks.   3. Adapt a healthy lifestyle. Preparing your mind and body for the tasks ahead will give you the energy and motivation to concentrate.

  7. Minimize distraction. Identify what distracts you. Once you have determined what hinders you from performing with full energy, find ways to alter the situation.     Friends can also be distractors. In this case, tell them when you are busy. Explain that you are working on something important. For sure, they will understand your situation.
  9. Take short breaks. Increased productivity does not mean devoting all your time to tick off items on your to-do list. Strive for a work-life balance.

    You can listen to music, pamper yourself with a warm bath and take naps. Research shows that working without some time off reduces your performance. You can also try changing positions to come up with fresh ideas that can contribute to your productivity.
  11. Stop trying to multitask. People do not multitask. Instead, they switch tasks. This means that every time you think you are multitasking, you are in fact switching your focus from one task to another. Concentrate on one task to ensure efficiency.
Being productive means keeping an eye on the positive effects it will bring not just to your life, but to other people as well. Increase your productivity by doing the above mentioned tips and reap the fruits of your labor.
